The first one I ever saw. I had gone out on the front porch to check the weather when I spied him. I grabbed the camera and went stalking after him in my houseslippers! He kept moving, but didn't seem TOO scared. I finally took this photo at maximum zoom with a hand-held camera, so it's a bit of a fuzzygraph. You can see more Pileated Woodpecker photos here.
