There are two major sets of land masses on Samru. The smaller is Yijan Jalil, or the Cognoterre. The Cognoterre is comprised of three continents forming an "O"—Dominarchus to the north, Khes to the south, and Geronfrey situated between the northeast between the two. There are a few islands scattered around these continents. The ocean in the center of the "O" is called the Eavon Ocean in the dominant language of the area. The waters outside the "O" are called collectively the Shadowed Seas, and until recently were unnavigable; ships lost contact with land and never returned once they sailed too far out. Now the technarcane wards that had locked the Cognoterre from the rest of the world have fallen, and passage over the Shadowed Seas is possible.
