HISTORY
The recorded history of Samru spans over 1500 years (by the Cognoterre calendar, not the satamharanthu calendar) and is filled with legends, mysteries and prophecies. A historical summary relates an origin myth and encapsulates the most notable events.
GEOGRAPHY
Among the many realms one can travel to within the Cognoterre and the Shadowed Lands are those on the continent Dominarchus: Arquian, Empyrias, Travioch, Somadios, Bahr al'Raml, The Rharihu Plains, and The Cazmorin Jungle; Geronfrey and The Island States; those on the continent of Khes: Cherient, Galicie, and Kanpa; Sasiru Kian and The Iron Autocracy. Each realm has different flora, fauna, and monsters, stones and metals, poisons, and currency.
RACES
There are a number of intelligent races on Samru of varied lines of descent, yet the genetic plague created by one of the kevalinu tears them all apart.
MAGIC
Samru's many types of mages work within a magic system that includes the domains of Universal, Air, Death, Earth, Fire, Illusion, Water, and the Metamagic and Forensics schools. Runemagic is a lost school of magic, as is the method for creating matrixgates. All mages must be cautious of sparking off gothic surges when the Night Sun is near.
RELIGION
The evil Avatarchs of Attrament are opposed by both the Elder and the Young Gods, and there are cases of heresy that concern the established churches.
CULTURE
The war-torn Cognoterre has a well-established military with its benefits plan, but also the infamous Hellebore Mercenaries and other adventurers who work by contract. Yet the Cognoterre is also filled with famous artists and people of professional and noble rank who are stratified by the Houses Concordant and subject to the whims of magic and fortune.
