Sieur Matteo Harpwright:
Timmy says the Leech has finally managed to get our young friend's problem under control÷they'll keep an eye on things for a year or so, but it looks like the cure has worked. Bellman Gyles Thatcher has also been cured, and now the guards are trying to decide whether or not an involuntary lycanthrope can be prosecuted for assault. All things considered, I think the lighthouse keeper may be willing to drop charges, given the extenuating circumstances. So, tell your friends that all's well....
As it happens, I got a chance to chat with Thatcher while Larkspur was working on him, and he told me a little more about his time as a werebat. It seems that somewhere between the night he fanged our friend and the night he flew out to sea, he attacked a short, fierce-looking man in Dockside, who knocked him out. He woke up as the prisoner of a different gentleman, with dark hair and sharp features and an unhealthy interest in lycanthropy. His captor took some blood and saliva samples and told him that he was interested in becoming a werebat himself, but not until he'd carried out a controlled experiment to ensure his own safety. He put a chain around Thatcher's neck and led him outside, but Thatcher broke the chain and flew away. Odd, don't you think? Timmy and I are quite dismayed at the calibre of people they let stalk the night-streets of Cislunar these days.
