Countess Elianora Raventree:
I'm writing to ask if you'd let me work as a recordkeeper and researcher for the Black Rose Company. d'Angeli said it helps to have someone keep all the records and file reports, and that your group would need a full-time clerk of its own. I can't support Marie-Catherine on a beggar's earnings and she deserves better anyway. As you can see, I know how to read and write, and even if I don't have a formal education like d'Angeli, I probably know the streets better and have more contacts there.
If you don't think you need my help I'll understand, since the Company has already done more for me than I had any right to expect. No matter what you decide I'm still in your debt.

We will indeed need somone reliable to keep our records, and I can think of no one who would be better suited to the job than yourself. Please consider your employment to begin immediately; we will be certain that your wages are adequate to the position.
