Notes on Kevalinu, True Magic, and Matrix Gates

There is much guesswork done when investigating aspects of the kevalinu, true magic, and the matrix gates. Very few kevalinu can be found, and fewer still will answer questions put to them by mere mortals. Their's is the world of true magic, and they are very protective of its secrets. The matrix gates are spawned from true magic and can be - in the case of the gates mapped out in the Caitanya Matrix - directly linked to the dragon/kevalinu-ruled citystates in early Samru history.
A word or two of caution is warranted before any discussion of the kevalinu or true magic. Many an unwary researcher has met with a mysterious demise - along with the loss of precious information - when seeking knowledge of the kevalinu. Be warned! Likewise, true magic has many of the same hazards. In my time, true magic is feared by many - a taboo even amongst mages - and probably rightly so. Misspoken words of true magic are said to have entombed Cimarron and opened the chasm known as "Ashmir's Folly," while my own friend and fellow researcher Castan entombed his mind and turned his body into the staff that I now keep with me as a reminder of the dangers of true magic.
The Caitanya Matrix, as I have copied here, is a map to the original matrix gates here on Samru. It should be noted that this map can be copied without the use of magic - yet the matrix itself is a magical thing. Indeed, it was the attempt of Castan to draw the matrix magically that released a vortex of energy that entrapped him. I have come to believe that the drawing of the matrix using magical means will tap into and concentrate the combined powers of all the gates into one small space. Needless to say, this is disastrous. As can be seen on the map, none of the gates have a complete copy of the entire matrix within the matrix gem. I feel certain that only Samru itself has the power to withstand the energies of the Caitanya Matrix; perhaps it is Samru that empowers the matrix.
As you will note, there are only twenty-seven gates within the Caitanya Matrix. It does not take much mathematical skill to deduce there are more Dragon Stars - and thus more dragons - than there are matrix gates. In the time of the Shattering Wars, new stars appeared in the sky (bringing new dragons?). I can only conclude that there were only twenty-seven dragons at the time the matrix gates were formed, or that there are more matrix gates (assuming that each dragon has a gate) not included within the Caitanya Matrix. Perhaps there are matrix gates on lands now within the Shadowed Seas or on lands not on Samru....
At any rate, I can only tie one dragon to a gate in the now abandoned city-state of Castajamir - Mendrion, the Shadow Dragon. One of the new dragons would/could be tied to Carrick, either Oriel or Romiel, but I am not sure which (truthfully, it is a new thought and not fully investigated at this time). I have marked a circle around the four gates I assume to be Castajamir. The land of Samru changed much from then to now, so I cannot be absolutely certain.
As I said, much has to be guessed at concerning the kevalinu. I am certain, however, that the kevalinu once numbered one hundred (are/were there also one hundred dragons to oversee them?), and are from Azaer Jalil (an early epoch of Samru or a different plane of existence?). I am not certain that they can be killed (a long lost missive by Rddhi [Riddhi?], a kevalin, seems to indicate that they can, though Tocair seems to have returned from his "death" and is "alive" now), they seem to be tied to Samru and may thus be immortal so long as Samru continues to exist.
The dragons seem to exist in conjunction with Samru, in a circular time frame. Perhaps we mortal beings do as well, though our perception of it is very limited. It is quite possible that the matrix gates exist in this same circular time frame (we in the Nemesis did travel back in time to Castajamir to witness/be a part of the end of the dragon/kevalin citystates). I caution anyone who attempts to use the gates to be sure of their destination and time before stepping into the matrix flux.
There also seems to be a connection of some sort between the dragons and the Dragon Stars, and the gods. Perhaps some research into the colors of the Elder Gods could help link the puzzle of the Elder Dragons and thus the colors of the matrix gate gems. Can it be that Samru itself is a matrix gate? I seem to formulate more questions than answers.
There is a matrix gate in Candor, the kevalin, Ash, transported some of the Nemesis there from Castajamir (I was not one of them unfortunately) and I suspect the kevalin, Rake, has access to a gate within his mountain domain.
