Husam Has a Dream

That night as you sleep in the jann encampment, you have a dream of such clarity and detail that it can only be some sort of vision. In this vision, you are an eagle, flying away from Al-Anwahr into the setting sun. The ruins of Al-Anwahr flash quickly beneath you and then you are flying deeper into the Haunted Lands. As you fly, the sun rises behind you and then sets before you. Then, again, the sun rises behind you, but this time you see a white stallion galloping across the desert toward you, its muscled flanks gleaming with sweat, its eyes wide, wild, and frantic. You swoop closer and the stallion rears, as if in response. In your dream, you sense no evil upon it, but rather feel a sense of kinship and recognition. However, you also sense something unnatural, as though the horse were not quite of this world.
Then the stallion turns back the way it came, and you two cross the desert together, toward a a dark cloud. The cloud envelops you both and stormwinds buffet you, but the horse is a gleaming beacon guiding you through the darkness. When the storm clears, you see a great necropolis stretched before you, much larger than Al-Anwahr, with six great pyramids rising above endless streets of graves and mausoleums. The white stallion gallops into the necropolis, but before you can follow, you awaken.
