I feel I must apologize for my actions of the last few days. I do not know what comes over me at such times, that I become so cruel. Though I do have a vengeful and vindictive nature, this neither explains nor excuses what I did to you.

I realize the whole ugly mess can be neither forgotten nor forgiven, (indeed, had our roles been reversed I am certain I would do neither), but I should like to offer a wish that we set aside the whole situation, (for at least as long as we are travelling companions), so that we do not add to the level of conflict already found in this group.

Let me also offer you one good service to try and balance the ill I have done you.
