All individuals are accorded some amount of honor. The most fundamental measures in orcish society are gender, race, and caste. After that, honor is accrued according to action. These are all cumulative.
For each 10 honor points an individual gains, that individual's family honor goes up 1 point. For every 10 honor points an individual loses, that individual's family honor goes down 1 point. The cumulative honor of families within a clan affects that clan's honor.
The amount of honor possessed by an individual who commits seppuku to protest a decision is subtracted from the honor possessed by the individual(s) whose decision is being protested. This subtraction is not divisible by the number of persons making the protested decision. Thus, if the Congery opposed the emperor, and the emperor committed seppuku to protest the Congery's decision, each member of the Congery would lose 35 honor points.
