I miss you something terrible! I'm glad to hear that you're survivingI get pretty regular updates from Laurie. May your success continue!
Seriously, though. I do miss you! I miss our chess games. I miss coming up with crazy schemes. I miss F.A.M.E., but mostly I miss just having you around! I trust that you are keeping yourself relatively safe (i.e. behind all the fighters). Oh, and I wanted to congratulate you on going more-or-less drug-free for so longand encourage you to keep it up! It's certainly good for you to lose that particular habit, and I'm glad Danny's intervened on your behalf.
I could probably chat with you for pages and pages, but I'm in a "concise" mood today, so I shan't. My reasons for writing this letter are twofold: one, I miss you and am sorry that I haven't written sooner; two: I am concerned about Laurie.
I realize that you are in the midst of a mission, but Laurie has confided to me that an old, personal enemy of his has suddenly reappeared. The matter weighs most heavily on his mind, and I fear he may not be thinking as clearly as he should. I am not going to betray his confidence by telling you any particulars. Ask him about this so he can tell you as much as he is comfortable with!
I am terribly afraid that he is going to do something foolish like running off on his own to challenge his enemy to Single Combatand I am terribly afraid that he will not come back. This whole concept of honorable battle is a bit beyond me, but I'm afraid that Laurie may insist on this single combat idea. However, this enemy of his has shown a predilection for quite dishonorable combat, and I'm worried that the fight will not be fair. I know you have a strong sense of honor and will respect Laurie's wishif it is his wishto engage his foe in a duel, but I also know you are highly suspicious and observant, and I'm asking you (and the others) to make sure it is a fair fight.
I must admit that my own sense of honor is undoubtedly somewhat lacking, and I apologize if my next request seems unreasonable or offensive. I really have no idea what you will think of it, but here it is: should Laurie be outmatched by his enemy, please make sure that the matter does not end in his death! I myself would not hesitate to cheat, especially since this particular foe has not, in my opinion, done anything to justify a fair fight. However, I do understand that this is a very personal matter for Laurie and it may not be possible to dissuade him from engaging this enemy himself.
Also, should this letter reach you in time, it may be wise to discuss this matter with Laurie as soon as possible. I think getting the entire issue out in the open, and having his companions pledge to aid him, will help him keep his mind on the mission at hand, which would be beneficial for all of you.
You already have my eternal gratitude for any number of things, and it seems I am always asking you for favors, but I wouldn't trust anyone else not to mess up this delicate situation!
Thank you and good luck! You're my best friend in the whole world! Take care of yourself and keep an eye on that band of misfits you call the Scintillating Company!
Love Always,
Fea
