PERSONALITIES IN THE BELIEVERS OF THE SOURCE

Aster's time working in the Great Foundry is just as awful as he remembers it; the huge, hot, metallic factory is a horrible place for a sylvan creature to work, although while there Aster learns that the Godsmen's membership is quite diverse; he sees and works with pixies, wemics, lammasu, and even a moon dog among the more common humanoid races. Aster spends several weeks sleeping in the tiny cells of the Great Foundry with other namers and, somewhat to his surprise, makes a number of friends among them. Aster's determined good nature and musical talent makes him a popular coworker, and his volunteerism and eagerness is noted by his higher-ups.

Within four weeks of working at the Foundry, he is taken under the wing of the shaman Ombidias, a 9-foot tall wood giant whose skin is so dark a brown it often appears black. Ombidias wears solemn deep green and black robes, but Aster finds the forbidding-looking giant to be quite approachable; he is a careful, slow, thoughtful man who in many ways balances Aster's impulsive tendencies. Ombidias seems fond of the cheerful little satyr and gives him advice and counsel on both the pragmatics of working in the Foundry and the philosophies of the Believers. When it seems clear that Ombidias is likely to sponsor Aster, Aster learns from his co-workers that Ombidias is widely thought to be a likely candidate for the next factol, after Ambar evolves into a power. (OOC: Aster can request that Ombidias be his sponsor among the Believers, if he wants.)

Aster's closest neighbors in the sleeping cells become his associates while working off his time in the Foundry. Aster is promoted out of the Great Foundry cells and permitted to live back at the house after he masters the basic Godsmen doctrine and skills, which occurs during his fifth week.

Milikieani (female planar pixie, 13? years old): Miliki, as she prefers to be called, comes from Dothion in Bytopia and came to Sigil to work more closely with the Godsmen. While working in the Great Foundry she stays visible out of courtesy to her coworkers (and personal safety), and after-hours she comes to join Aster's music with her own innate audio and visual illusions. Miliki has the typical pixie sense of humor -- not always benign! -- and flirts outrageously with male Godsmen. Her hair, skin and eye color are subject to change without notice (ch: 11). Although she looks about 13, it's clear that she's older than that (she claims she doesn't remember how old she is).

Lord Owain Perceval (male aasimar planar, "several centuries"): Percy is the typical aasimar, complete with golden hair, fair skin, and compelling blue eyes (ch: 18). However, the fact that he appears to be in his middle age is unusual; most aasimar, like elves, seem ageless. The fine lines around his mouth and eyes indicate that he has been around for quite some time. Percy amiably reveals that he was a warrior in Tir na Og and the Outlands, serving in the celestial armies of Brigit for several centuries, before he decided to seek ascension in more than military rank. Although he's usually fairly easy-going and relaxed, a few times Aster has seen his aasimar/warrior ego stirred and watched with fascination as Percy has resolutely taken deep breaths and let the instinctive flash of anger or pride dissipate. Percy actively dislikes Halahel; she is the only person thus far whom Aster has seen make the aasimar angry.

Enki Rhutra (male human planar, 18 years old): Enki comes from the great city of Marduk in Arcadia and says he left "because it was too restrictive." He is dark-skinned, with brown eyes and black hair and beard (ch: 10). With his skill at sleight-of-hand and prestidigitation, he could easily be a street-corner entertainer. He also has a nimble way of scrambling up and down the works in the Foundry and a sly sense of humor. Enki loves ferreting out secrets and defends his insatiable curiosity with "knowledge is power, right?" He and Miliki get along quite well.

Halahel (female baatezu planar, 20s?): Halahel is the only erinyes in the Great Foundry, and even among this most open-minded of factions, she is treated with a bit of apprehension. Halahel is gorgeous, with red-gold hair, grey eyes, silver-grey feathered wings, and a buxom tiefling body to die for (ch: 18). Maybe literally; that's what makes bashers nervous around her. Halahel is a shameless temptress, although she demurs that she's on her "good behavior" while working off her apprenticeship in the Foundry (funny how the heat doesn't seem to bother her at all; she never even raises a ladylike 'glow' while working). Nevertheless, she pushes everyone to their breaking point before backing off, licking her lips and giving a sultry chuckle ... and spreading dissension among the working squads. It's unclear why she's joined the Godsmen; erinyes seldom seek promotion. She refuses to answer the question. Miliki thinks Halahel is fun, but both Percy and Enki avoid her; Percy with open dislike, Enki with judicious caution. Aster, of course, has no choice but to slavishly do her bidding until free of her influence.
